Christ Renews His Parish

"The Renewal Weekend"

You're Invited to a Spiritual Weekend at Saint Fabian's Parish

St. Fabian Parish has many doors. There are doors to our church and doors to the classrooms: doors to offices and closets. There is a door on the confessional. There are front doors and back doors, side doors and sliding doors. Some doors are heavy and very difficult to open. Other doors are light and swing open easily. Some doors have difficult locks and other doors have no locks.

But there is a door at St. Fabians that can only be opened by one person. There is no outside handle on the door. It can only be opened by the person on the other side. That door is an easy one to open... all you have to do is say YES. When the door swings open you will be surprised. On the other side you will find love and laughter, friendship and concern, and a real sense of belonging to this parish. The door has 4 letters on it. They read... CRHP!

Christ Renews His Parish has been part of St. Fabian for 6 years. Many men and women have gone on the weekend. They have shared prayer, stories and experiences. They have laughed and cried. They have relaxed in each other’s presence and been awed by the stories of their lives. It was a wonderful time... just ask them! They would love to tell you about the weekend. It’s 36 hours of your time that could possibly change your life.

The retreat begins on Saturday morning and ends Sunday evening. You are fed and given a place to rest and a chance to grow as an individual. You receive all this from simply opening a door.

Open Wide the Door to Christ.

Contact the Parish Office for more information.

The topics of the presentations on the weekend are:

WHAT IS CRHP?

The "Christ Renews His Parish" (CRHP) program, centers around the renewal weekend, stresses a clear focus on the Gospel, the Good News of Jesus Christ. it emphasizes continued growth in Christian Life in our daily contacts with others. The weekend also offers an excellent opportunity to meet other people in St. Fabian's Community.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE WEEKEND?

The weekend is an opportunity to hear and discuss how men and women function in our modern, complex, fast-paced society. the renewal weekend provides an opportunity for individual spiritual growth through prayer and personal reflection. You will be sharing conversation and thoughts (as much or as little as each individual desires) with others in the parish who are as caught up as you are in the many demands of everyday life presented by families, society and jobs. The weekend may be an opportunity for you to respond to a closer and deeper relationship with Christ.

WHO MAY ATTEND?

CRHP is open to all who live in the St. Fabian Parish boundaries and who are at least 18 years of age.

WHEN AND WHERE DO THE WEEKENDS TAKE PLACE?

Weekends for men and women take place once a year in the late winter / early spring. They are conducted on our Parish grounds.

HOW LONG DO WEEKENDS LAST?

The weekend begins in Kash Hall at 8:00 AM on Saturday and will end by 6:00 PM on Sunday.

WHAT ABOUT MEALS?

Meals are provided by the St. Fabian CRHP community. There will be opportunities during the weekend for regular breaks for coffee, soft drinks and snacks. If you have a special diet, please let us know when you register so we will be able to provide for your needs.

Casual and comfortable clothing is appropriate for both Saturday and Sunday.

I DON'T LIKE TO GET UP & TALK IN FRONT OF PEOPLE, WILL I BE REQUIRED TO?
